James Nix, MD, FACOG

James Nix, MD, is a board-certified obstetrician and gynecologist with more than 26 years of experience. Dr. Nix earned a Doctor of Medicine from Texas Tech HSC School of Medicine in Lubbock, Texas, and completed his OB/GYN residency at the University of TennesseeMemphis. Dr. Nix has been an OB labor and delivery hospitalist with AdventHealth in Orlando, Florida since July 2017. He has also worked as a labor and delivery hospitalist with OBHG in The Woodlands, Texas, Plano, Texas, and Pensacola, Florida. Dr. Nix operated a private OB/GYN clinic inHuntsville, Alabama, for 16 years. In addition to his clinical roles, Dr. Nix has held leadership positions, including chief of the OB/GYN department at Crestwood Hospital in Huntsville, Alabama, and served as OB/GYN clinical faculty at University of Alabama at Huntsville from 2001 to 2004 and again from 2014 to 2017. He has contributed to research publications, including a study on the closure of long surgical incisions with tissue adhesive published in the American Journal of Surgery.
