APOPKA, Fla. – AdventHealth Apopka has announced a $26.3 million expansion at the hospital to better serve the growing population in Orange County.

This new investment will address the increasing demand for complex care within the community. Construction has started on the fifth floor of the hospital, which will offer 38 new inpatient beds and four dialysis bays.
“The expansion of our hospital will enable us to offer high-quality, whole-person care to more patients close to home,” said Parker Pridgen, CEO of AdventHealth Apopka. “As our West Orange communities continue to grow, we are committed to keeping pace by adding specialty care to meet the needs of this community.”
The approximately 30,230-square-foot expansion will bring the campus’s licensed bed count to 158.
Expanding service offerings and rapid population growth has contributed to the need for additional capacity at the campus, as reflected in the number of patients seen in the last year. AdventHealth Apopka had more than 6,900 admissions in 2022, a 20% increase since 2019.
A new surface parking lot will also be constructed with 800 new parking spaces for guests and team members.
The project is expected to be completed by May 2024 and will result in the creation of over 20 high-paying jobs.
Batson-Cook is the general contractor on the project.
