KISSIMMEE, Fla. – AdventHealth Kissimmee is celebrating 30 years of whole-person care in Osceola County. The hospital, which joined the AdventHealth family in 1993 as Florida Hospital Kissimmee, shares a unique bond with the Kissimmee community. AdventHealth acquired Kissimmee Memorial Hospital from the Columbia Hospital Corporation (now known as HCA Healthcare). This marked the organization’s expansion into the Osceola market, and over the years, the hospital has diligently cared for the community.

“For the past three decades we have grown and adapted to meet the health care needs of our community,” said Sheila Rankin, CEO for AdventHealth Kissimmee. “The achievements of the hospital are the result of the incredible work of our team members, including our providers. Their dedication is the reason we have been able to sustain the vision of our founders for many years. We look forward to another 30 years of providing whole-person, high quality, compassionate health care to our community in Kissimmee.”
The hospital has grown tremendously in the last 10 years.
- In 2014, the hospital expanded its 15-bed emergency department with 20 additional beds, making a total of 35 beds, five of which are child-friendly. This remarkable $7 million investment more than doubled the department's size and set the stage for further growth in Kissimmee.
- In 2015, AdventHealth invested $60 million in the campus, adding a new patient tower that doubled the facility's capacity. This expansion added 80 private patient rooms, bringing the total number of beds to 162. The investment facilitated the creation of state-of-the-art suites for cardiac catheterizations and interventional radiology, enhancing the hospital's capabilities.
- In 2020, the campus introduced a state-of-the-art surgical suite featuring four new operating rooms, significantly increasing its capacity for future growth. This development allowed Kissimmee to offer minimally invasive robotic surgery to its patients, and a retail pharmacy was established in late 2020.
- In 2021, an additional investment of $84 million enabled the opening of three more floors in the tower, resulting in the addition of another 80 private patient rooms.
As it celebrates this milestone anniversary, AdventHealth Kissimmee today has 242 beds, two catheterization labs, and five surgical operating rooms. Moreover, it offers an extensive range of 20 different service lines, solidifying its position as a leading health care provider in the region.
AdventHealth Kissimmee's remarkable success is a testament to the dedication and passion of exceptional team members who have chosen to serve the community and make a positive difference in patients' lives.

“Every time I come to work, I am living our mission with my team, our patients and their families,” said Danette Rivera, care manager at AdventHealth Kissimmee and team member for 30 years at the hospital. “I believe that working at AdventHealth Kissimmee has been my purpose in life.”
To celebrate this occasion, team members gathered at the hospital for a rodeo-themed celebration, befitting the area’s ranching heritage. AdventHealth Kissimmee was presented with an official proclamation in honor of the organization’s 30th anniversary by Olga González, mayor of Kissimmee, during the celebration. The proclamation honored AdventHealth Kissimmee’s long-standing service to the community and applauded its distinguished history.
