PALM COAST, Fla., April 2, 2019 – On March 27, staff from the AdventHealth Palm Coast imaging department donated nearly $1,000 to support the fight against breast cancer locally.
Since 2013, the hospital’s imaging team has hosted an annual candy sale with all proceeds benefitting the AdventHealth Palm Coast Foundation’s Breast Cancer/Pink Army fund. This year’s event raised 30 percent more than last year’s fundraiser.
“The hospital’s imaging department is one of the very first steps in catching breast cancer early, when it tends to be more easily treatable. Our staff are the ones who perform the mammograms and other breast cancer screenings,” said Dawn Durso, AdventHealth Palm Coast director of imaging services. “This is a cause that is very close to our hearts. We are proud to play a small role in the outstanding work our Foundation does to help our community fight breast cancer.”
The AdventHealth Palm Coast Foundation’s Pink Army raises funds and awareness for the importance of screenings. The funds directly support qualified women – and men – in the area that need mammograms and other diagnostic procedures.
