DAVENPORT, FL (May 9, 2019) – Heart of Florida Regional Medical Center Wound Care & Hyperbaric Medicine has been awarded the President’s Circle award for outstanding performance.
The wound care center received the honor after achieving patient satisfaction rates higher than 92 percent and a healing rate of at least 91 percent in less than 30 median days to heal, for a minimum of two consecutive years. The wound care center also received Center of Distinction and Center of Excellence awards for 2018.
“These recognitions demonstrate our commitment to maintaining high quality standards year after year,” said Adelor Zamora, M.D., Medical Director of Wound Care & Hyperbaric Medicine. “Our team strives to do what’s right for every patient that comes through our doors.”
The center received these prestigious honors by Healogics, the nation's largest provider of advanced wound care services. Out of 413 eligible Centers, 29 were honored with the President’s Circle award nationwide. The award is named for Dr. Robert A. Warriner III, a pioneer in wound care and the former Chief Medical Officer for Healogics.
The wound care center offers highly specialized wound care to patients suffering from diabetic ulcers, pressure ulcers, infections and other chronic wounds which have not healed in a reasonable amount of time. Treatments at the center include negative pressure wound therapy, total contact casting, bio-engineered tissues, biosynthetic dressings and growth factor therapies. The center also offers hyperbaric oxygen therapy, which works by surrounding the patient with 100 percent oxygen to help progress the healing of the wound.
