Hundreds Helped at UChicago Medicine AdventHealth Free Medical Clinic
More than 200 UChicago Medicine AdventHealth team members, physicians and community partners volunteered recently to help provide care for over 250 people at a free medical clinic held at Lyons Township High School in the Chicago suburb of Western Springs.

Bringing to life the hospital system’s mission of Extending the Healing Ministry of Christ, volunteers assisted attendees with registration, navigation and translation needs. Medical services offered free at the clinic included dental exams, diabetes and nutrition education, vision screenings, laboratory screenings, orthopedics, school/sports physicals, medication, physical therapy, podiatry and primary care.
Community partners – including Aging Care Connections, DuPage Health Coalition (Access DuPage), NAMI Metro Suburban, Pillars Community Health and the Chicago Healthcare Alliance Lions Club – also helped connect participants to ongoing care and social services, such as counseling services and food pantries.
