December 1, 2023 brings access to health care to more families across our community. North Carolina is expanding Medicaid coverage to people ages 19 through 64 years with higher incomes.
To make it easy to understand this updated access to care, we are sharing the following information guide.
MEDICAID
- Medicaid pays for doctor visits, yearly check-ups, emergency care, mental health and more.
- Medicaid is available at little or no cost to people who qualify.
Here in North Carolina, Medicaid means you can access most health services.
The thousands of people in WNC who are now eligible for Medicaid can access most health services once they sign up for this new coverage.
