Gordon Hospital and Murray Medical Center are pleased to announce that Karen Steely will serve both hospitals as chief operating officer.
Karen has a wealth of experience as a nurse and as an administrator, and she is widely respected by employees, physicians, and the community, said Pete Weber, president and CEO of Gordon Hospital. We are excited to see her succeed in this new role.
Steely has worked at Gordon Hospital for 20 years, most recently serving as administrator of Murray Medical Center and vice president of Gordon Hospital.Among her other responsibilities, Steely manages the EMS teams at both locations as well as the $25 million capital expansion project that just broke ground last month at Gordon Hospital.
I am appreciative and honored to be given this opportunity, said Steely. Its an exciting time for our communities and our organization. My goal is to continue to build on the synergy and strategy that has allowed us to extend our mission by growing with and serving those around us.
Steely, who is a Dove Leadership Award and Heart of Nursing Award recipient, holds a Master of Science in Health Systems Leadership from the University of West Georgia. Outside of her profession, she enjoys spending time with her husband, Lynn, and their children, Bree and Jake.
